Firmdale Hotels PLC

A major client of ours for over twenty years, Firmdales, own a chain of 5 star luxury boutique hotels in central London, the names and locations of which illustrate the standards of quality and service we have had to achieve as their main joinery supplier;

The Covent Garden Hotel, No. 16, The Dorset Square Hotel, The Charlotte Street Hotel, The Knightsbridge Hotel (next to Harrods), The Soho Hotel,The Ham Yard Hotel and The Haymarket Hotel. They also own The Crosby Street Hotel and the Whitby Hotel in Manhattan, New York. We have supplied the hotels with everything from mini bars to stairs, doors, windows and furniture to skirting, shop fronts, kitchens and roof lights. We even made the hen house that was exported to the New York hotel so that they could have their own hens laying on the roof to keep their guests in fresh free range eggs! Celebrity guests are a regular occurrence – so Madonna has been hanging her corsets in our wardrobes in Soho, while the Beckhams have sipped cocktails at our swimming pool bar in Haymarket; Halle Berry, Meg Ryan and Daniel Day Lewis have eaten the eggs produced by the hens in New York kept happy by our cosy hen house!

Opposite you will see photographs of their last major development which was The Ham Yard Hotel, where we completed, amongst other things, a curved oak reception desks, the bowling alley screens and bars.

The success story between Farnham Joinery and Firmdales is down to the close working relationship developed between our proprietor Frank McLoughlin and their project manager Ron Cheles, who acknowledges this on our testimonials page.The owners of Firmdales, Tim and Kit Kemp have won many business and design awards for the hotels which they design and develop themselves. It is therefore a source of pride to us that they choose us to produce the joinery they require for their own beautiful homes in London, on the south coast and in the Caribbean.

St. Pancras Chambers, Kings Cross

The huge re-development of this beautiful old station has been one of the biggest projects in London in years. We are proud to say that we were appointed by Galliford Try to manufacture the original Gothic arch windows at this grade 1 listed building which are situated in the new luxury £200 million hotel there, The Renaissance St. Pancras Hotel. They were 4m high with old fashioned complex joints that had to be re-produced exactly to adhere to strict English Heritage regulations. We also reproduced other period windows there in the hotel lobby, and supplied the solid American oak flooring to the iconic Booking Office Bar & Restaurant. Mike Pereira, the purchasing manager for Galliford Try makes his comments on our testimonial page. You can also view a profile of our contribution to the 5 star Rennaisance Hotel at St Pancras Chambers here.
